Advocacy Guidelines

Working with a co-op advisory committee, NCG developed a set of advocacy guidelines which inform our public policy positions and define the scope of issues on which NCG’s advocacy and sustainability staff work.

Note: These guidelines are not confidential and can be shared with co-op staff, boards and other interested parties. Current guidelines are posted for the public on our website.

Changes to Guidelines

NCG’s advocacy guidelines are reviewed biennially (every two years) by NCG’s CEO, NCG’s Senior Director of Advocacy and Sustainability and your Advocacy Advisory Committee. Interested in suggesting a change to the guidelines? You can run for service on the committee or take these steps:

1. Draft proposed new guideline or changes to an existing guideline
2. Send to NCG’s CEO and NCG’s Senior Director of Advocacy and Sustainability
3. Proposed changes will be reviewed by the advisory committee and recommended changes will be presented to the full membership at the next member meeting
