Collecting Demographic Data

A well-balanced and diverse team leverages the group’s various strengths in any given situation. Diversity can include all the ways that we are the same and different from one another including racial identity, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, gender, education, religion, primary language, and so on. 

We know that consumers want to see themselves reflected in the staff of the places they choose to shop and we know that co-ops can lead by example by striving for greater equity and inclusion. Currently, many co-ops do not reflect the racial demographics in their individual communities which is why we’re working together to gather demographic data and report on our progress.
