National Co+op Grocers (NCG) — the business services cooperative for retail food co-ops across the United States — today welcomes Community Co-op Market (CCM) in Tallahassee, Fla. as a new member.

Founded in 2019, Community Co-op Market is a full-service natural and organic grocery offering fresh produce, meat, cheese, bakery and prepared foods along with a broad selection of local and regional products. The start-up was organized to maintain a food co-op presence in the Tallahassee community following the closure of New Leaf Market Co-op, which ceased operations at end of 2019. Community Co-op Market purchased the assets of New Leaf and opened its doors on January 1, 2020 at the same location.

“The management and staff of Community Co-op Market are committed to ensuring that everyone in their community has access to healthy, delicious food and building strong communities while doing good for the world,” said C.E. Pugh, Chief Executive Officer, NCG. “We are thrilled to support them as they continue New Leaf Market’s long tradition of serving shoppers in the Tallahassee market.”
