Program Details

The Core Sets program is a turnkey and comprehensive category management solution that delivers a consumer-centric category strategy and provides for cost supports, new item free-fill and category execution support in store for participating NCG co-ops.

Benefits

Provide NCG members with a program that delivers:

• A consumer-centric strategy for each reviewed category that balances sales, gross profit dollars, price image, inventory and retail space productivity, and the market position of food co-ops nationally
• Recommended assortment and vendor support for strategic placement of new products for each reviewed category
• Vendor price investments and retail price ceilings in support of a coherent pricing strategy for each category
• Ongoing promotional support through NCG’s promotions programs that aligns with the category strategy
• Planograms, merchandising guidance and support for category resets
• Ongoing support for the successful launch of on-trend and complementary new items

Costs

There are no costs associated with participation in this voluntary program.

Participation and Eligibility Requirements

The core sets program is open to NCG member co-ops that are:

• In good standing with NCG
• Participating in NCG’s core purchasing programs (UNFI Supply Contract, Co+op Deals and Co+op Basics) for at least one month
• Able to meet all of the participating co-op responsibilities
• Current and in good standing with all participating program vendors and distributors
