Five Keys to New GM Success

Program Overview

The role of general manager (GM) is a critical one for the co-op. The increasingly competitive environment that retail food co-ops operate in is one of the many factors contributing to increasing turnover in this important role. GMs new to their role have many demands on their time and attention, and it can be difficult to know what to prioritize and pay attention to in the first few months.

This program’s content draws on NCG’s collective knowledge and experience working with new GMs. Participants in this half-day program will learn the five most important things to pay attention to and act upon as a new General Manager. The program’s format includes a blend of lecture, case study, real world examples and group discussion.
