Co+op Brand Typefaces
The Co+op brand uses unique type design as a key component across all expressions of the brand.
Primary Fonts
- Gill Sans is the typeface used extensively throughout the Co+op brand. It is a humanist sans serif face that is both friendly and approachable as well as strong and legible in a very broad range of applications. Body copy and longer form text used in a designed format, such as a print ad, is set in Gill Sans.
- Headlines and subheads, as well as other bold type elements are set in Gill Sans Heavy. This typeface provides sufficient weight and readability against color or photographic elements to words that are designed for display.
Gills Sans and Gill Sans Heavy are standard fonts that are typically widely installed. If you do not have these fonts already installed, they can be purchased and downloaded using the links below.
Secondary (Supporting) Fonts
The secondary fonts should never be used for body copy or long blocks of copy, nor should they be used as primary headers. Among the secondary typefaces, only Quintus appears in retail environments and on promotional materials such as direct mail and temporary in-store posters.
- Quintus is a script-style font that should be used sparingly in Co+op communication pieces. Its character is energetic and disruptive and it immediately commands the viewer’s attention. For that reason, it is best suited for short bursts of copy such as calls to action, product features, new programs and special offers.
- Tisa Pro is a highly legible serif font that was added exclusively for use in longer form materials, such as quarterly newsletters. Its role includes use at very small point sizes in captions, footers and running mastheads. In addition, it provides occasional visual interest in the form of subheads, pull quotes and tables of contents.
