NCG Member Agreements

NCG’s member agreement describes the relationship between NCG (the cooperative) and its members (the food co-ops), and it describes the requirements, rights and responsibilities of both parties. It is written for transparency and is intended to be shared with boards of directors.

NCG’s member agreements are revised at least every five years. The current version of NCG’s agreement was last updated and implemented in 2020, and we are currently in the process of updating the agreements with input from the Designated Representatives (DRs) from co-ops for adoption in late 2025 or early 2026.

Whenever we revise member agreements, boards of directors are required to authorize the DR to sign on behalf of the co-op. In the event of a GM transition, boards do not need to reauthorize the agreement before the new DR can sign the agreement; the board authorization is only needed when the agreement changes.

Please note: NCG agreements are confidential, intended for designated representatives and co-op board members. You may share them with other audiences based on a legitimate request, but consider limiting distribution widely.
