People’s Food Co-op Publishes Cookbook

In honor of its 50th anniversary, People’s Food Co-op – La Crosse & Rochester (PFC) recently created a cookbook to share with owners and shoppers. The book features recipes from the co-op’s kitchen, as well as recipes from local farmers and producers.

“The concept for the cookbook was created by one of our board members, Liz Gamble,” says Ann Mull, PFC’s marketing director. “She was also the editor and instrumental in bringing this cookbook to life.”

The cookbook contains an assortment of the co-op’s “go-to” recipes from throughout its history, in addition to new twists on old favorites — from maple-glazed yams and award-winning white chicken chili (created by the co-op’s Food Service Director Gina Prange) to walnut fudge brownies and pumpkin pecan spread.

“The cookbook [is a way] to share the history, traditions and flavors of PFC,” Mull says. “We hope people have fun exploring these recipes and sharing a special meal.”
