As NCG focuses on leveraging our virtual chain in 2025, we are also working to strengthen NCG operations and program support for members. As a result, some NCG departments and roles have new names. 

Strategic Development (formerly part of Retail Support)

  • Primary contact for co-op designated representatives (DRs). 
  • Includes guidance toward being competitive and financially sustainable co-ops, strategic planning, system alignment and leadership development and succession planning

Retail Development (formerly part of Retail Support)

  • Includes programming and direct support for retail departments (center store, prepared foods, meat and seafood, produce, pricing and scanning) 
  • Includes business expansion support (feasibility, real estate, site selection, financing, store design, department programming, equipment, store design, store opening)

 People and Culture  

  • Now includes EBIA (equity, belonging, inclusivity and accessibility) in addition to professional development, Co+op U e-learning, HR advisory services, event planning

NCG’s other department names (Marketing and Communications, Business Technology, Advocacy and Sustainability, Finance and Purchasing) remain unchanged.
