NCG Protein Bowl Program

Program Overview

The protein bowl phenomenon is here, and NCG has created all the resources you need to launch a program you and your customers will love.

Benefits

Customer desire for dishes featuring whole grains and vegetables is influencing all kinds of creations that appeal to a wide range of customers. Grain bowls are a reflection of the current health consciousness in today’s food culture. One-dish meals offer a number of benefits that track with the latest trends.

  • Protein bowls fit into a variety of trends, including gluten-free, whole grains and vegetable-forward dishes.
  • Bowls cater to vegans by providing options beyond just raw vegetables.
  • Bowls provide a license for creativity, with recipes that are easy to change out with the seasons.
  • They are customizable, and the recipes can easily be adapted for those with allergies.
  • The bowls are filling, making them the perfect meal to sustain shoppers throughout the day.
  • The versatility of bowls lets customers broaden their palates while eating healthy.

How It Works

Whether you preassemble bowls for the grab and go case or let customers order from the list of ingredients on the menu, it’s easy to get started.

  1. Start with a nutritious base: greens, quinoa or rice.
  2. Add hot and cold toppings, such as saucy mushrooms, pickled red onions, sweet carrots, crunchy pumpkin seeds or roasted Brussels sprouts… the list goes on and may very based on what’s in season and fresh.
  3. Decide on a protein, like grilled salmon, grilled chicken or sesame tofu.
  4. Finally, top the bowl with a dressing or sauce and some seeds, nuts or cheese as a garnish.

Once the packaging is chosen, determine portioning, cost the recipes and set the price point. Then you’re ready to sell!
