Benefits of FMI Membership

The Food Industry Association or (FMI) has long been an advocate for the retail food industry and brings together a wide range of members across the value chain — from retailers who sell to consumers, to producers who supply the food, as well as the wide variety of companies providing critical services — to amplify the collective work of the industry.

FMI is a champion for the food industry and the issues that make a difference to its members’ fundamental mission of feeding and enriching society. The reach and impact of FMI’s work is extensive, ultimately touching the lives of over 100 million households in the United States and representing an $800 billion industry with nearly 6 million employees.

NCG has recognized the value FMI brings to its membership and the additional resources member Co-ops have access to, such as free legal guidance and PR assistance in crisis situations, marketing resources like free or discounted consumer research reports and operational webinars on timely topics like the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard and FDA’s new Food Traceability Requirements.

NCG offers paid membership to FMI for all NCG co-ops. FMI has hundreds of industry resources to help your store maximize retail performance and remain compliant with current and emerging government regulations around food retailing.

To begin taking advantage of your FMI membership, consult with your general manager or designated representative (DR) to NCG. With their assistance your co-op can create an account and begin to access the array of benefits available to you.
