Littleton Food Co-op (LFC) in Littleton, N.H., has been honored with the 2023 Cooperative Excellence Award by the Consumer Cooperative Management Association (CCMA). Each year, awards are given to outstanding co-ops for achievements in service, innovation, board service and overall cooperative excellence.
Food co-ops from across the country were nominated. Nominees were scored in five areas: leadership, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, human resources and business results in the areas of customer and member satisfaction, financial and marketplace performance, human resources, supplier and partner performance, operations performance, governance and social responsibility.
The 2023 Cooperative Excellence Award, which LFC received, was given in recognition of “a retail cooperative that has made significant progress in meeting the needs of members through growth in net sales and earnings, initiation of new and innovative programs, and expansion of member services.”
The 2023 CCMA conference, held in June in Sacramento, Calif., was attended by co-op general managers, board directors, staff, consultants, and their national allies. LFC General Manager Ed King, LFC Board Director Deborah Sullivan and LFC Community Outreach Coordinator Becky Colpitts represented the co-op.
A press release from LFC states that, “Littleton Food Co-op recognizes that this award would not be possible without an outstanding staff committed to a high standard of service to our members, customers, and the community.”
