Program Overview
Participation in NCG gives most co-ops access to cyclical inventory counts of center store products conducted by Retail Inventory Services (RIS) and their affiliates. Inventory results are reported back to co-ops in an agreed-upon format.
Benefits
- Competitive rates.
- Consistent and accurate counts performed within 48 hours of a calendar quarter’s end, or at other times as agreed upon by your co-op and RIS or the servicing affiliate.
- Customized store mapping and reporting.
- Two count options to choose from:
- Financial counting services – merchandise counted at retail value and reported by category.
- UPC-scanned counting services – merchandise counted at retail value reported by UPC (SKU).
Costs
Costs are effective September 1, 2023, and are based on which count option you choose:
- Financial counting services:
- No account set-up fees.
- A rate of $3.00/$1,000 of inventory counted at retail value or $415/count, whichever is greater.
- UPC-scanned counting services:
- One-time $690 account set-up fee and provision of PLU files to the inventory counting service.
- A rate of $5.45/$1,000 of inventory counted at retail value or $625/count, whichever is greater.
- Co-ops may request additional, unique counting services, with the scope of work defined by the co-op and the service provider, and performed at a rate of $43.50/hour.
- In addition, travel charges may also be incurred by remotely-located co-ops, and will be determined by the location’s distance from the servicing RIS or affiliate location; the size of crew required for the count; and whether an overnight stay is required.
