Ready-to-Bake Frozen Pastry Program

Program Overview

NCG offers members who can order from Co-op Partners Warehouse (CPW) the opportunity to participate in a high-quality, ready-to-bake pastry program. Product may also be available in select UNFI distribution areas and through Tony’s Fine Foods.

The program includes the following items, all with clean ingredient lists suitable for natural foods retail:

  • Proof-and-bake butter croissants
  • Proof-and-bake classic cinnamon bun
  • Freezer-to-oven fruit turnovers filled with blueberry, cherry or apple
  • Freezer-to-oven hand pies in cinnamon and strawberry flavors
  • Freezer-to-oven classic palmier

Benefits

  • An easy solution to a commonly missing or complicated category in many co-op delis due to the specific space, skill and equipment needed
  • Minimal investment required. All your store needs to execute the program is a freezer, an oven and a sheet tray
  • High return with low investment. A retail price point of $1.99 each or 2/$4 is expected to bring a gross margin in the 60s with very little labor, making these items a strong contributor to net profit with room to apply variable margin pricing and lower the price points to be competitive or lead in the market. Even a 45% gross margin should net you greater than a 30% margin minus labor number, a strong number

How to Participate

Currently this program is only available through Co-op Partners Warehouse (CPW). Limited assortments are also available in certain UNFI Distribution Centers, as well as Tony’s Fine Foods. Contact your local CPW Rep, UNFI Territory Rep or Tony’s Fine Foods Rep for product availability.
