NCG invites your co-op to participate in our 12th annual Thanksgiving Challenge! We will survey NCG co-ops to determine the top three co-ops with the highest percentage growth over the previous year in each of these three areas:

  • Store sales the day before Thanksgiving
  • Number of whole turkeys (fresh and frozen) sold during the month of November (Nov 1-30)
  • Number of bone-in turkey breasts sold during the month of November (Nov 1-30)

We will also award the co-ops with the greatest number of turkeys sold during November; one award for each of four CoCoFiSt store size categories.

Contest Details

Who is eligible

  • This contest is open to all NCG co-ops.
  • We will divide the whole turkey sales contest into four categories, based on store size (CoCoFiSt small, medium, large and extra-large designations).
  • Co-ops that have physically expanded or relocated since Dec 1, 2024 will compete with each other in a separate category, with one winner declared.
  • Co-ops that joined NCG or began operations in 2024 are only eligible to compete in the whole turkey sales competition.

How to participate

  • NCG will distribute a short survey to meat department managers the last week of November requesting information for Thanksgiving sales for 2024 and 2025.
  • Meat department managers will be responsible for completing the survey and contributing sales information. If whole turkey sales information from 2024 is not available, we will supply an estimate based upon our 2024 NCG Thanksgiving turkey survey information for your store.
  • Please be sure to record number of turkeys and turkey breasts sold, NOT pounds.
  • Co-ops with multiple locations should provide information for each location separately in the survey.
  • Co-ops must submit survey information to NCG by 12pm Central on December 12, 2025 to participate.
  • Winners will be announced in January.
